Cool post and superb idea. A classic before it even happened…

BUt yes, making a PDF of the booklet for a fee would still be very cool. It was ensure more money goes direct to Unicef and the logistics of printing, postage etc will be eliminated, and many more people like us will benefit from what looks like a great little big book.

Maybe you can approach him, it’s easy enough to transfer this to PDF and set up a online payment system and UNICEF will continue to get donations which is what its all about.

I’m really glad you enjoyed it. I know what you mean about interviews on the web: they can sometimes run on a bit long, and I was worried that this one might do so. I think James had a great story to tell with the process he went through, and that’s what really works – a great story.

I know what you mean. I’ve thought for a while that I would like to donate design services for a humanitarian project in this way, but I haven’t had the killer design idea for doing so.

I also heard about James’ project after it sold out, so my reaction was pretty similar to yours. I think the pdf is a great idea.

Wow, I wished I had heard of this before it sold out!!! Looks great. Does anyone know if there are any plans to release the book in .pdf format, or have another published edition for those of us that missed out on the first one?

Wow, thanks for putting this interview together, Tracey.

James, great job with the book. I think you should think of another project in a very near future, because it’ll pick up very quickly on the waves of success of this one. :)

I’ve had a similar idea‚Äîinterviewing designers about typefaces‚Äîbut didn’t think of putting it as a book, and most of all tying it to a charitable cause.
